If you are South African and returning permanently to South Africa you are permitted to import one set of wheels per family duty-free.

You must have owned the car for at least a year and you must be able to prove that the car has been fully paid for.

The cheapest method of shipping cars to South Africa is on a Roll on Roll off (RORO) shipping service. The ship is a purpose-built cargo vessel.
