Staying healthy in South Africa
The climate in Johannesburg is hot, dusty and dry. Cape Town is hot, windy, and full of unusual pollen from the Fynbos.

Mosquito's
A lot of shelf space is dedicated to mosquito repellants in the shops. Don't bring it from the UK, rather buy it in SA. There is no shortage of sprays and lotions to to fight of these little buggers.
Ticks
Now here is one thing I had forgotten about. Watch out for the little red ticks as they can cause tick bite fever. If you have been out for a walk in the lovely Cape Town wilds or the equally lovely Mpumalanga bushveld, do a thorough body inspection.
Your animals will also need to be protected against them, a monthly treatment should do the trick.
