Getting connected with Telkom

An application for a Telkom line installation needs to be completed in a Telkom branch. You will require your ID book and proof of where you reside, either your lease or a utility bill. You will be credit checked before Telkom accepts your application. Waiting time for installation is 2-4 weeks.

Telkom phone packages

Telkom offer a pay as you go or monthly by direct debit. An example of a package, which is paid monthly, is R130 per month, which entitles you to free calls after 7pm.

Buying a telephone

There is a selection of phones available from Telkoms main branches ranging from R300 to R700. A cordless digital phone with 2 handsets will cost you R600.

If you have an armed response security system that works through your telephone line remember to ask for a filter for the phone line.
